Cold Mountain Musings

During the last few long winters Jon spent at Spring Creek, he began making these "Folk Art" plaques from the scrap aspen wood in his drum making workshop. After he had walked away from his workshop and after Roine had passed, I bought Jon a professional woodturning tool to further encourage him to create. In those long winters, he sat in front of his sliding door along the Roaring Fork River and he created numerous pieces which he gave away. This one is among my favorites:

"It's better to know one mountain, than to climb many."
